Wild Woman's Scent
Wild Woman’s Scent is the first artwork in a series of large-scale flower sculptures. Created for the 2013 Sculpture at Bathers exhibition in Fremantle, it stands six metres tall and is fabricated from steel pipe.
Wild Woman’s Scent represents the raw beauty and strength of the feminine spirit. Its towering form symbolises women’s freedom to be wild, untamed, and unapologetically themselves.
Set against the backdrop of the Swan River in East Fremantle, this sculpture invites viewers to connect with nature, femininity, and the untamed power within us all.

Wind Dancers
Rolled aluminium pipe and plate, magenta perspex inserts, automotive paint, LED lights
5 Kinetic Flower Sculptures 1500 x 1000 x 3555–4500 mm
Originally exhibited at Sculpture at Bathers 2022, now permanently installed at Mews Road, Fremantle
Wind Dancers is a celebration of feminine strength and ancestral connection. This cluster of five kinetic flower sculptures represents the women in my matriarchal line — my grandmother, mother, sister, myself, and my daughter. Each flower speaks to the love, wisdom, and quiet resilience passed from one generation to the next.
Soft pinks and purples reflect the feminine spirit, with two custom shades I created and named after my children: the deeper pink is Kai’s Kiss (for my daughter), and the lighter pink is Nixxy Noxxy (for my son). The petals are inset with magenta perspex to catch the sunlight, adding a luminous glow by day, while LED lights bring them to life at night.
Crafted from rolled aluminium pipe and plate, each flower is mounted on a trailer axle, allowing it to spin gracefully in the wind. As they turn and shimmer, the Wind Dancers become joyful symbols of movement, energy, and enduring connection.

Entomophily
Entomophily 2012
Automotive painted aluminium with LED lights
6000 x 3000 x 3000 mm
Pollination is one of nature’s most magical and essential exchanges — flowers offering nectar and colour to attract bees and other insects, who in turn help plants reproduce and thrive. Entomophily shines a light on this relationship, both literally and symbolically.
This glowing, oversized flower sculpture invites us to step into the world of pollinators, to see what they see, and to appreciate just how important they are. Made from painted aluminium and illuminated with LED lights, the piece draws attention to the beauty and necessity of biodiversity in a way that’s playful, vibrant, and larger than life.
First shown at Sculpture by the Sea in 2012, Entomophily was later acquired by Purple Roof Gallery and exhibited in Shanghai’s Jing’an Sculpture Park. It now resides at Shanghai Fish as part of the Fengxian International Public Art Project.

Fun Fact:
One out of every three bites of food we eat depends on pollinators like bees, butterflies, and beetles. Without them, ecosystems, and our dinner plates, would look very different!

Leafy Pleasure Garden
Steel plate, recycled timber, exposed aggregate concrete | 14m x 10m
📍 7-Eleven, Port Kembla Dr, Bibra Lake, WA
Nestled beside a busy service station, Leafy Pleasure Garden is a quiet, nature-inspired sanctuary offering a moment of respite from the hustle and bustle of travel and everyday life.
The 60m² site includes sculptural seating crafted from powder-coated 10mm rolled steel plate and recycled timber from the old Busselton Jetty. Each curved bench is shaped like a gum leaf — soft, sweeping forms painted in natural eucalyptus tones.
A poem I wrote for the artwork is inlaid into the exposed aggregate. It reads:
I danced in the desert, I dived the deepest sea,
I soared through the stars on a lifelong journey…
I climbed the highest mountains, hoping to be free,
I travelled far and wide, searching for the magic of me…
I rested in my homeland under a eucalyptus tree,
and there I found a leaf that reminded me of me.
The poem surrounds a ground artwork by the talented Sharyn Egan, which represents the five lakes of the area and reflects the importance of water to the local Indigenous community. The inlay was painted and installed under the guidance of the wonderful Scape-ism team — with special thanks to Jahne and Liam for their care. Gratitude also to the skilled crew at Wenco, whose expertise in industrial steel rolling helped me bring the complex leaf forms to life.
The sculptural seating was inspired by a tall eucalyptus tree that once stood proudly on site. Sadly, the tree was deliberately poisoned. But in a beautiful twist, a new tree has since taken root nearby — growing rapidly and now casting its gentle shade over the garden. That living canopy echoes the spirit of the work: resilience, renewal, and quiet strength.
Leafy Pleasure Garden invites visitors to slow down, take a breath, and rediscover the beauty that surrounds us — even in the most unexpected places.

Open Pod
Teeming with the potential of life, in her simple act of opening, this seedpod shows there is strength in vulnerability. When she is ready, she opens effortlessly. The pod offers with humility that which she has been protecting and nurturing. As she opens, she offers the seeds to Life. Some fly on a journey with the wind… others provide food for animals… some are enveloped by the land and nestle deep within the earth to begin a new journey of life, germinating with their own offerings to the world. Thus the circle of life continues to grow and thrive.
