About Mel

I began my love affair with sculpture in my very first sculpture class many years ago. I have not looked back and now have public artworks both locally and internationally.

I am based in the Fremantle/Cockburn area in Western Australia. My sculptures are a subtle invitation to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. Mother Nature is my muse.

I enjoy the challenge of juxtaposing feminine organic and delicate forms with masculine large-scale heavy metal forms.  My arts practice explores what happens when two worlds collide…

I often employ the use of flowers to represent the feminine. My art is about shining my light and encouraging others to do the same. I want to inspire others to stand as tall and as beautiful as my flowers.
